Who
we are: Camp on the Hill is Silicon Valley's premier
summer day camp now in its 44th year of making summers fun
for kids. Conveniently located off 87 & Curtner in San
Jose, our location offers easy access to parents and accessibility
to high adventure field trips in the bay area. Let us provide
your child with an awesome camp experience.
For the Kids:
If you're entering 1st grade through 6th grade in the fall,
this camp is for you! There are tons of on-site activities
for you to enjoy and you get to try them all! From skits to
Pogo, swimming, small groups, challenges, arts and crafts,
the game room.and let's not forget the Snack
Attack! Each week
you'll be able to choose a counselor and get to know a new
group of friends. Did we mention field trips? There are weekly
off site adventures where you'll be able to experience and
explore with fun counselors and great friends. What can be
better than that?
For the Parents: We're excited to offer you
and your
child a fun, safe and nurturing camp experience. We are a
Christian based camp, committed to helping your child grow
in their relationship with Christ. You'll receive peace of
mind knowing your child is in a caring camp dedicated to serving
the whole family. We have a healthy balance of directed activities,
free time, quiet activities
and exciting challenges. Our dedicated summer staff supervises
all activities. Whether your child is coming to camp for the
first
time or is returning as a veteran, you can be sure they'll
have a great time!
Our Staff: Our camp is run by the leadership
team of Mary Griffith and
Brad Mornhinweg. With more than 15 years experience between
them as directors and parents, not to mention their professional
experience in early child development and special education,
they have the experience, dedication and patience required
to serve each child that attends camp. We take the selection
our summer staff very seriously, so you can be confident that
the staff that is chosen is whom we believe will best serve
your family. All paid staff is current in pediatric CPR and
first aid. Our Counselor to
camper ratio is 10:1 with student counselors helping in
each group.
2008 Summer Session: Our camp operates from
7 a.m.
to 6 p.m. Our program
runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
and we're pleased to offer before and
after care as a courtesy to you. Our session begins June 16
and concludes August 8. Each week of camp is its own unique
experience so feel free to pick and choose what weeks work
with your schedule knowing that your child will enjoy a new
exciting adventure each week.
